Noel banner

I enjoyed making this burlap Noel banner
Made the felt Noel by ironing stitch witchery to the back of the letters and cut them out after.
The pennants I made with the stiff burlap from Walmart. It took 2 sheets.
I had the red pompoms, ribbon, fabric and little trees and burlap braid for the hanger
I did zigzag the letters after ironing in place and I edged the pennants too with matching thread.
Looks great and was fast and easy

gift set Paris style

I created the gift card tags with fabric, old linens and lace
The set is completed with a pretty pendant to wear for the Holidays

I had the old bronze frame so only needed to embellish it with a glazed image,
some bias silk ribbon and it is done
Can be worn as a brooch

Garden in Avignon

I first sketched the garden and villa, this was near Avignon in the south of France
Then painted with watercolors and other mediums
I used machine stitches to draw outlines then did lots of handwork
The picture is framed with French fabric and mounted on pictureboard.
I finally covered the back and bound the edges with more fabric

It is ready to hang, or it can be framed

a tapestry from France

I made this country tapestry with images that I think denote the countryside of France
I love the look of time worn textiles and fragments of days long gone.
Mended and stitched with hands that worked the fields and cooked earthy food
12 x 8.5 inches
a must have in the French country home

Country textiles in Provence

the real thing here
sturdy country fabric and design logos
they have inspired me lately
I will be making my versions soon

Some of my fave, items.
Great comfy grain-sack cushions
Wanted them but couldn't fit into my one carry-on bag

it is easy to make interesting pincushions from old silver pieces
one base came from Paris and makes a nice little whimsy.
the other base was found at a flea market

Luggage sachets

I sewed the lavender filled sachets
thought they would be very nice in a suitcase for trips abroad or to Vegas
the French blue striped fabric is old homespun, very European
I made tags with assorted Passport stamps and sewed them on each sachet
two are tied together with twine for a gift

4 pretty sachets in a basket

Burgundy collage

I made the patchwork collage from some of my photos
most were in Burgundy, in the wine country
I took a wine tour there, and found the quaint winding roads so peaceful, dotted with  Chateau and small rustic villages
Our transport had a difficult time traversing some of the extremely steep and narrow streets
we had to back up and find another route at times
Lots of fun and great photos
